The Waun Wyllt
The Waun Wyllt is an 18th century public house and restaurant with five ensuite bed and breakfast rooms, four in our lodges and one double in the main building. To the rear of the pub there are five hard standings suitable for caravans and motor homes. Nestled in the Sylen Valley, one mile from Five Roads village square, the Waun Wyllt is also adjacent to the acclaimed Swiss Valley Cycle Route.
The pub remained empty for a number of years, with its future uncertain, it was bought by local family business T.A.D. Builders in 2013. Having spent a year sympathetically upgrading the pub, the doors are now open.
Waun Wyllt regulars will be glad to see that The Cwtsh remains, as are a number of features such as the log burning stove and exposed stonework. Comfortably furnished, it is an ideal place to casually dine and sample the real ales and draught premium lagers on offer.
The Waun Wyllt is ideally placed to accommodate visitors to a number of Carmarthenshire's attractions. Ffos Las racecourse is a fifteen minute drive to the North. The Parc Y Scarlets stadium is a fifteen minute drive to the South. Pembrey Country Park and the adjacent motor racing circuit is a twenty minute drive to the West. Access to the M4 for those who fancy a cross country spin is at Cross Hands J49, and is a 25 minute drive across Mynydd Sylen to the East. Alternatively, the M4’s J48 is accessed via Llanelli to the South.
There are ten golf courses within 16 miles of The Waun Wyllt, most of which are championship courses such as Ashburnham at Pembrey and Machynys on the edge of Llanelli, both are within 15 minute drive, making us the ideal base for your golf trip.
